Ticketmaster Ireland and a number of on-line ticket sales businesses must be nervously watching this development. With what could only be referred to as a monoply on the industry, will Ticketmaster here feel the pressure and can that be good news for Irish consumers?
Certainly the events industry is looking at all options for reducing costs to their customers and some healthy competition in the market can only help. However, will Tesco be interested in less popular events? Who knows, but certainly the concert industry in the UK seem to be happy with the plans to sell a number of gigs at various racecourses during the summer.
Something we should all keep an eye on.
