Indeed Rock the Block
We work with Indeed throughout the year to deliver various internal and external events and experiential activations.
The Brief: One of the key staff engagement events of the Indeed calendar year, is their annual holiday celebration. Our task was to create a cool party for 2,500 guests when there isn’t a venue big enough.
To accommodate their 2,500 guests for their annual Holiday Party we decided to try something that had never been created before – let’s take over 7 venues that are in the same block and ROCK THE BLOCK! Working closely with PressUp Group, we did a buyout of Roberta’s, Dollard & Co, Tomahawk, Liquor Rooms, Workmans Main Club, Workmans Terrace, and Bison.
Our biggest challenge was to create a cohesive look and feel across these very separate venues, all with different layouts and functionality, from kitchens to seating styles. While guests enjoyed exploring the various venue styles, there was a consistency to the F&B offering. We created new entrances and exits to the buildings so there was a logical flow between the spaces. We designed a number props and décor pieces to create continuity and enhance the space, with organic balloon walls for photos, giant disco balls, and upside down Dancing on the Ceiling sets to add to the fun.
Curating the entertainment was another fun challenge – from a mix of The Scratch, Jafaris, Elaine Mai, Daft as Punk, Primary Colours, and a host of top DJs we populated the venues with an enticing musical journey. In addition to the main musical acts, we had plenty to entertain, with roaming caricaturists, and the amazing magician Joel.
Guests each had a wristlet which led them via a QR code to a dedicated event page which laid out the evening’s food feasts highlighting all allergens and the packed entertainment schedule.
With nothing left to chance from security to cloakrooms, branding to enhanced AV and lighting the evening ran as smoothly as if it was all one large venue. This was one amazing party! Our team, which included the incredible Indeed team and PressUp teams, have one serious problem created from the event – how the hell do we top it next year!
